The Song Remains led by drummer Karsten Bagge is a band playing jazz versions of Led Zeppelin songs. Claus Waidtløw on tenor saxophone sings the melodies of Robert Plant with his horn while Thor Madsen balances the act of paying tribute to Jimmy Page without sounding like a cover band. Jesper Bodilsen on acoustic bass anchors the groove together with Bagge. The arrangements, all by Bagge, tastefully reposition the immortal songs of Led Zeppelin in a jazz context.

Despite not having released anything yet the quartet has already played a handful of concerts around Denmark. Lately there has been a renewed interest in the music of Led Zeppelin. This can be felt at the concerts where the audiences tend to be a mix of young and old people.

The members of the band had very different relationships with Led Zeppelin to begin with. Both Karsten and Thor listened intensely to Led Zeppelin as teenagers. Claus and Jesper, on the other hand, had a far less intimate knowledge of the band.

The quartet will record their debut album in 2021.
